Vertical Speed Indicator – plain an simple. Original drums and gears removed and replaced with a NEMA stepper motor and a IR sensor for initialization. NEMA is running at 1/16 steps for super smooth and quick needle movements. Stay tuned for upcoming videos of the gauge conversion.

This Airspeed indicator actually came from a B727-100 but since they are identical to the ones installed on Lufthansa 707s I chose this one and painted the 410 kts and 420 kts marker black. Both needles are working on this gauge. WhTags:

The fuel quantity gauges on the 707 are a bit tricky to convert to stepper motors since the have two needles very close together.  The main indicator needle turns less than 315° (which is the limit of the Juken X27 motor) and thus does not require

Bought a heavily damaged and corroded rudder pressure indicator on eBay and fully refurbished it with new GE328 5V bulbs and a new 2-inch housing. Let the photos speak for themselves. It has the standard Switec X27 stepper motor that uses its internal stop for resets.
