Moved the cockpit to a different hangar for paint removal. Right side is now clear of most stickers. Not sure what kind of paint was used but the paint stripper that worked well on the Caravelle doesn’t work at all on the 707! Ardex (Industry standard for paint removal) is very expensive so I will try to add some brake fluid now and see how that works. I sanded down some paint at the window to see whether D-ABOD still has its original paint scheme under the newer paint but the original Lufthansa colours were removed completely when the aircraft was repainted 30 years ago.
